How to get to Crooked Kitty Ranch

(We are about 40 minutes from Portland; 30 minutes from Vancouver)

From Portland
FOLLOW DIRECTIONS EXACTLY:

  1. Take I-205 North or I-5 North across either bridge to Washington.

  3. If you take I-205 North...
    Go to PADDEN PARKWAY East, take this exit and stay on for a while. This will put you onto WARD ROAD eventually. You will go through the little town of Hockinson. After that, there will be a Y in the road. Follow the directions from #4-A below.

    4. OR

  4. If you take I-5 North...
    Take the 179th/FAIRGROUND exit. Stay straight off the exit through the light—it becomes 10th. Stay on 10th until you get to 199th Street. Turn right on 199th, and drive a long while until you get to the Y in the road. Follow the directions from #4-B below.

  6. 4-A: Turn RIGHT at the Y if coming from I-205. This puts you onto RISTO ROAD (be careful at this intersection).

  8. 4-B: Turn LEFT at the Y if coming from I-5.

  10. Go 2.5 miles and take a LEFT on NE 227th AVENUE.

  12. Go 0.6 miles and take a RIGHT on OSMAN.

  14. Go 0.6 miles and take a RIGHT on 229th STREET.

  16. Go 0.1 miles and take a LEFT on NE BERRY.

  18. Go 0.5 miles and take a LEFT on ALVAS ROAD (private, gravel, bumpy road).

  20. Go 0.3 miles—24205 is the 4th place on the RIGHT, with a wood and wire fence. Look for a branch with prayer flags on it.


    21. Park or back in at an angle starting at the furthest end/northern part of parking strip nearest the house. Parking your car at a left angle makes pulling out easier. Bigger cars/trucks, please park in front of the fence off the road by pulling straight in to best utilize the space.

    ***DO NOT park on the LEFT/South side of Alvas Road, per neighbor request.***

Leaving Crooked Kitty Ranch
As there are a number of tricky turns on your way out, follow these directions to get you back out onto the main roads: Make a left out of our driveway onto Alvas Road. Turn right onto Berry. Turn right onto 229th. Left onto Osman. Left onto 227th. Take 227th to the end and make a right onto Risto Road back out to freeways.
